With nearly three decades of experience in the health insurance industry, Wes Fischer is one of Florida’s leading experts in the industry. As president and owner of the Health Insurance Store, Wes oversees more than 500 agents throughout Florida and the daily operations of the company. His firm was one of the first agencies to work in the ACA Marketplace, helping nearly 20,000 clients receive new coverage.
Wes graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida International University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh. After graduation, Wes worked for Price Waterhouse and Ernst & Whinney, performing audit and consulting services for health care providers. After that, Wes was the Florida Hospital Association’s vice president of shared services and the president of Tanguay/Fischer & Associates, which specialized in self-funded and employee benefit plans for health care providers.
Wes founded The Health Insurance Store in 1992 and has navigated tens of thousands of clients and agents through numerous health care reform efforts. He is a frequent speaker on how health care reform will impact individuals and employer groups.
